I guess I am feeling a bit Irie right now. All I want to listen to lately is Reggae music. I guess now that Spring (yes, I know it is June) has finally arrived in the Green Mountains of Vermont (the leaves are finnaly on the trees), specifically Bolton Valley, all I want to listen to is what I like to call simply “outside music”.
The Skatalites, Rolling Steady has been on the rotation lately and I thought a few tracks were worth a mention.
Check out the history of the band.
A Few Favorite Tracks
- Handsworth Revolution
- Ku Klux Klan
- Chant a Psalm (Not on Album)
I love the “Softly As a Morning Sunrise” vibe that carries throughout the jam.

While I typically despise adding “Ultimate Collection”or “Greatest Hits” albums to the blog I do have to make a few exceptions due to a lack of other alternatives on Rhapsody. I would have preferred to add “Handsworth Revolution” or “True Democracy” as they are by far Steel Pulse’s best albums and truly must haves for the true audiophiles out there.
Check out the history of Steel Pulse.

Here is some comic relief to bide the time until my next post which will be twice a week from this point forward. Yes, I know, we have all heard this same song and dance before. Anyway…..

Here is a quick one for all of you. All roads (at least in the progressive bluegrass circles) lead back to Mr. Hartford. A legend to many. Here is just one track of many wonderful tracks, particularly on the latter part of the album.
