Must See – James Balog’s “Ice Chaser”

I am an unapologetic environmentalist.

As a graduate from the University of Oregon with an Environmental Studies degree I have some insight into the ill-effects of global warming on the planet. Unfortunately, I am unable to convince the naysayers about the tragedy that is occurring right before our eyes.

If the words of professional glaciologists and climatologists are unable to convince the global community about the dire situation our planet faces over the next century then maybe, just maybe, visual evidence will change their minds.

It can’t be denied that glaciers are receding around the world at a rapid pace and nothing proves this fact more then James Balog’s work.

I’m not going to delve into the background of Mr. Balog’s career (you can clink on the included links for more info), but I do want to encourage everyone reading this to watch his award-winning documentary titled Chasing Ice.

The film is visual evidence that indeed the concerns are valid and need to be addressed on global scale immediately.

Watch the film. Check out his project Extreme Ice Survey. And most important, join the movement.

If that’s not enough check out Mr. Balog’s related project Earth Vision Trust¬†for a few insightful interviews.
